Denver beat Baltimore at Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards, escaping with a 4-3 win in 11 innings. The win in large part was due to second baseman Jimmy Pietryka. He belted 2 home runs. The Ravens fall to 6-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2002 season.

Denver used a timely hit from Mike Blakney to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Broncos ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

In postgame remarks, Blakney said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
